If you are seeing a USB 3.0 device plugged into a USB-C Expansion Card or USB-A Expansion Card disconnect or repeatedly disconnect and reconnect, there are two things you should try:

1.  Make sure you are running the latest [BIOS and drivers](https://knowledgebase.frame.work/en_us/how-do-i-download-drivers-for-my-framework-laptop-SyHOJGwCu).
2.  If the issue still occurs and you are on Windows 10, try disabling USB 3 Link Power Management.
    1.  Open PowerShell as Administrator
    2.  Execute the following command
        
        powercfg -attributes 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 d4e98f31-5ffe-4ce1-be31-1b38b384c009 -ATTRIB\_HIDE
        
    3.  Open Power Options by opening Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Edit Power Plan --> "Change advanced power settings"
    4.  Under USB settings -> USB 3 Link Power Management, select the Off option for both "On battery" and "Plugged in".
